I only purchase oils and butters from certain suppliers who are members of the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil. 
I believe such practices are better than a boycott.  Too often when something wonderfully useful is realized it becomes exploited.   From the palm tree we get a truly beautiful oil and one of the most sustainable crops available when farmed in a responsible manner.   I encourage people to do their own research on the subject.
